Unity is strength… when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved. ~ Mattie Stepanek.
Unity in the community is one of our favourite phrases. It describes all we are trying to achieve with all the work we do. The current lock-down situation has proved to enhance unity in many quarters. Men are opening up to communicate with other men and show their emotions and vulnerability. People generally are realizing the need for socializing. The lack of contact is actually driving unity as the call for help gets louder.
Our own mans group the Yang Gang has found a new unity through the technology of Zoom. There’s no hugging but at least there’s connection. We even had a family talent show recently via the same means so people can be inventive. Finding unity within ourselves begins with awareness and acceptance, this leads to appreciation and provides the blessings of life. This is why we see so little unity generally, yet it comes to the fore when the going gets tough. Once we understand how truly blessed we are, we can work together to create more.
We can create unity through a common goal because everyone focused on the same outcome. Winning people over to see a particular vision can be difficult. We are currently looking at creating natural burial grounds within the farm fields. Whilst we ask for advice, some see it as a great opportunity to get involved in something really worthwhile. Others unfortunately see it as an opportunity to make money. We don’t need to pay for clarification of our purpose.
We want to build a community that will outlast our lives and leave a legacy for generations to come. Combining funeral services and rewilding of land seems an admirable passion for us to follow in years to come. Everything of course comes down to the powers that be, such as the local planning department. Our success rate to make valuable changes for the greater good haven’t been wonderful so far. However, we change plans, change intentions, and change direction, we can but try.
Unity is strength, the belief of many can change most things. We’re seeing a national unity towards the NHS and key workers in the Thursday evenings applause. We’re beginning to see a new plan emerging from the lock-down position of recent months. For many, days of the week have lost their significance. For us we’re using the time to reform our offerings and come out of the present situation with a plan of action that will create a legacy.
Each of us only has a certain amount of time on Earth. We need to use that time to build something of value, not for ourselves but for the generations to follow. We intend to do just that through the offerings of the Three Wishes workshops. Our aim is to give everyone the opportunity to find their own source of unity. What we give to others is more important for our own happiness than anything we can make for ourselves.
