One of the big stresses at this time of year for many, particularly entrepreneurs, is completing their tax return. For many more including self employed and those with additional income above a wage the weight builds around paying the bill for the previous years earnings. The end of January is notoriously pressured in so many ways.
The joys of Christmas are a long gone memory but the credit card costs for many are just being revealed. Its a time to consolidate and with the cold weather upon us or looming large when it seems like the best thing might be to hibernate.
Few of us can really spend the time we would like in the places we would like doing the things we would like. However there are ways we can make life lighter and enhance the qualities we do have. Spending time in nature walking, or better still working with the land gardening, or cultivating, brings us a sense of freedom and connection to Divine Spirit that we cannot get elsewhere.
When we can value the the things that are truly hard work and see only positivity in all we do, we learn what freedom really is and understand the grace of the world. Working outside at this time of year really takes stamina and yet it can be the most productive time, even though the days are only slightly longer than last month
As we build to Imbolc the coming of the light, we can usually see the first gifts of spring as snowdrops show themselves through the bleakness of winter. This time is more than Celtic rituals, its a time for letting go of the past and looking to the future, for spring cleaning, goal setting and changing the energy.
Over the next week Blissland will be revitalised by releasing, renewing and refreshing its energy with a variety of ceremonies that will incorporate The Goddess and The Green Man in every sense of life. Everything should be fully functional once we clear the space for the new light of the year ahead – Hallelujah.
